Paradisi Curve: A Bespoke Perfection in Chair Design

Simon Firullo, a renowned designer known for his passion for engineering and creating unique chairs, has unveiled his latest masterpiece - Paradisi Curve. This chair is a result of Firullo's love for both design and engineering, making it a perfect blend of form and function.

What sets Paradisi Curve apart from other chairs is its beautifully elegant double concave carbon fibre composite seat. Achieving a flawless finish on this seat was a labor-intensive process, but the end result is truly stunning. The metal work of the chair is made from aerospace-grade aluminium, meticulously machined on a CNC milling machine. The combination of the polished carbon fibre and the course-grained leather-work creates a visually captivating contrast in black and silver. Each chair is unique and numbered, making it a bespoke piece of art.

The realization of Paradisi Curve involved the use of cutting-edge technology. The aerospace-grade aluminium and carbon fibre were CNC milled to precision, ensuring the highest quality and durability. The chair's dimensions are 850mm x 700mm x 880mm, making it a comfortable and functional piece of furniture.

The design process for Paradisi Curve was meticulous and detailed. Using CAD software, Firullo perfected every minute detail of the chair in 3D space. The carbon fibre composite seat, with its double concave shape, was meticulously hand-laid to ensure a flawless weave. The metal components were machined with utmost precision, resulting in a chair that is not only visually appealing but also comfortable to sit on.

Paradisi Curve was created in London, with the project starting in May 2012 and finishing in June 2013. The design team behind Paradisi Curve used the same CAD software that was used to create the Eurofighter Typhoon, highlighting the level of expertise and attention to detail involved in the design process. The carbon fibre composite was treated with the utmost care, ensuring maximum consolidation through autoclave processing.

Recognized for its outstanding design and innovation, Paradisi Curve was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2015. This prestigious award is a testament to the chair's remarkable technical characteristics and artistic skill.
